National Animal – Cow – In Danger, Snehas Care in Action

National Animal – Cow – In Danger, Snehas Care in Action

The photo below is of the National Animal of our country Nepal and they are known as COW. Yes these are cows who were abandoned by the people after being financial burden to the owners. Our team is now tirelessly working on the spot which is almost 750 Km away from Kathmandu.
Our team along with the founder of Sneha’s Care Ms. Sneha Shrestha, headed to this location once we knew about this incident.

Almost 2,500 abandoned cows were taken into the Cow shelter managed by Ghodaghodi Municipality in Kailali District. These cows were taken in the middle of the jungle 6 months back. Almost 500 cows were sold to the interested people, 1700 died of hunger & diseases and now the remaining number of cows is almost 250. There are another 100 cows seen in the street as well.
These cows are facing a big trouble at the moment and logistic is very hard to reach the cow shelter. We hired a tractor where we took food and medicines for them.

Our team has been feeding the cows and medically supporting them. We had meetings with different stakeholders including Mayor of the Ghodaghodi Municipality and came with a conclusion to make the life of the remaining and survived cows better. We already allocated a new land with the help of municipality which is very close to the village and with facilities like water and grazing area where these cows will be shifted for their safety and better life. We are starting the fencing and building new shelter in the land that will be provided by Municipality. We are also supporting the municipality for drafting a Local Level Animal Welfare Act.

We wont be leaving this place unless things goes better which might take at-least a month.
We need your support to buy them food, medicines and building a new safe place for them to live. Please help us help these innocent animals and do not forgot that, these animals comes to street and they are abandoned because we love milk and dairy products.

Help us make their life better:

Pig – Mans Best Friend – Go Vegan

Pig – Mans Best Friend – Go Vegan

Pigs are believed to be one of most intelligent animals, following chimps, dolphins, and elephants. We might think our dogs are the smartest animals when the can roll over or shake on command, but they surpass even man’s best friend.

Their intelligence was first discovered in experiments in the 1990s. Pigs were taught several tasks using a cursor on a computer screen. They learned these tasks as quickly as chimps. They could move a cursor on a screen with their snouts, as well as use the cursor to distinguish between scribbles they knew and those they were seeing for the first time.

Why do eat such a beautiful animals?

Rocky was rescued from Khokana Bus Park, Lalitpur on 29th December 2018. One careless bus driver ran over him, and he got severely injured. He had to lose one of the hind legs due to the negligent of humans.

Ro
Sneha’s Care started his treatment without any delay. But there was not a single chance to save his leg because it was severely infected. Our team did need medication and care. Fortunately we succeed to amput his leg, and still, he is under treatment. Please pray for his speedy recovery & help us cover the cost of the vet bill.

Snehas Care against Live animal Transportation

Snehas Care against Live animal Transportation

Why isn’t there an improvement in Live Animal Transportation in our country? The question is why the “Live Animal Transportation Standards, 2007” is not yet being implemented till date?

We go for random investigation to the entry point of Kathmandu and warn the drivers and care takers not to tie the nose and tail of these innocent animals who are already on the way to slaughter. We need your support. Investigating the situation just in the entry point doesn’t work always.

We need your support in the highways and in the starting point where they load the animals. You can simply ask them to remove the ropes from their nose and tail and remind them of the Standards of Live Animal Transportation and also “Criminal Code” of Nepal where they can be punished.

Please inbox me if you would like to support my cause and help voluntarily to end this suffering.

Rest in peace Gauri. You will be forever missed.

Today is the 13th Day, Gauri has left us. She was a very good mother and very good daughter as well. Even though we could not save her, she stayed with us for more than a month and we were so lucky to get worshipped by her on Gai Tihar.

13th Day of death refers to the ceremony conducted to mark the final day of mourning after a death by Hindus.

Rest in peace Gauri. You will be forever missed.
